Facts About Nick Bosa

Nick Bosa was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He attended St. Thomas Aquinas High School where he earned All-State honors and played in the Under Armour All-American game as a senior. Bosa then went on to play college football at Ohio State University where he was two-time Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year (2017 and 2018). In 2019, Nick was selected with the second overall pick in the NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers.

Nick is well known for his ability to get to the quarterback quickly and efficiently; he led FBS teams with 8.5 sacks as a freshman in 2016. Additionally, Bosa holds several Ohio State records: most career forced fumbles (six), single season sack record (16) and single season tackles for loss record (29.5).

Nick is the younger brother of Los Angeles Chargers defensive lineman Joey Bosa, who was the third overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. The two brothers are the sons of John Bosa, who played three seasons for the Miami Dolphins from 1987 to 1989. Nick’s mother, Cheryl Bosa, is an All-American swimmer and his cousin, Eric Kumerow, also played with the Dolphins for four years.

Nick has shown that he lives up to his last name as one of the most dominant players in college football history. He’s been a driving force behind Ohio State’s success on defense over the past few years and will be an invaluable asset to the San Francisco 49ers.
